About Us

Our Story

Stand Tall Speak Loud

Every organisation has a unique path to genuine inclusion. Anchor + Flow was founded on the belief that creating truly inclusive workplaces requires both stable foundations and the flexibility to evolve.

We partner with organisations to create environments where inclusion is not a policy, but a practice. Through culture-first strategies that address equity, belonging, and systemic change, we help you build workplaces where everyone can bring their whole selves to work.

This isn't corporate diversity-and-inclusion theatre.

This is culture change with staying power.

Case Study: Inclusive communication

Global Charitable Health Research Foundation

Building Inclusive Communications Across Continents

We conducted an inclusive communications audit for a global health research foundation. The goal of the project was to evaluate the effectiveness of previously implemented inclusive communication principles and set a path for future progress.

Working closely with the corporate affairs team, we conducted a comprehensive assessment that included reviewing external and internal organisational materials, as well as over 20 interviews and focus groups with employees.

Following the assessment, we delivered a report highlighting key findings and recommendations to better align the programme with the organisation's values and mission. We also developed tailored guidance materials to help employees communicate inclusively with global partners across the US, UK, Kenya, India and other locations.

Tech Startup

DEI Training for Leadership

We worked with a high-growth hospitality tech brand to deliver a series of DEI training sessions for its senior leadership team.

Despite having a strong workplace culture with an articulated employee value proposition, the company lacked a formal DEI training programme to reinforce and enhance its workplace culture.

We created and delivered a series of tailored DEI training sessions, equipping the team with the knowledge and confidence to effectively implement and contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. These sessions covered a range of crucial topics, including the power of inclusive language, unpacking privilege, and embracing discomfort.

Our Approach to Equity

Case Study: Inclusive communication

While we lead with culture and inclusion in our positioning, equity remains at the heart of everything we do. We believe sustainable workplace transformation requires addressing power dynamics, systemic barriers, and structural inequities head-on.

Our culture-first approach means:

We centre those experiencing harm first in our listening sessions and recommendations

We name bias and discrimination when we see them, not euphemise them away

We challenge "nice" cultures that prioritise comfort over meaningful change

We measure impact through both culture outcomes (retention, psychological safety, innovation) and equity metrics (representation, pay gaps, progression)

If you're looking for a partner who will help you build genuine inclusion—not just the appearance of it—we should talk.

Testimonials

I've done two workshops with Whitney; both times have been exceptional. She approaches all discussions with kindness and curiosity and meets everyone in the room at their level.

She is great at setting context and providing enough information to help guide conversation and allow for deep conversation amongst participants.

On top of that, her workshops are engaging and incredibly interesting! Whether it's a group of senior executives or someone just starting out, she can navigate any audience and situation with grace.

Her guidance is practical, contextual and adaptable for the specific organisation she is working with and clear that the workshop is only the beginning and that change takes time. I would 100% work with her again, and she is my go-to person for anything DEIB!

Working with Whitney through Anchor + Flow's reverse coaching programme has been a valuable part of my leadership development.

The bi-monthly newsletters are a helpful way to stay up to date on DEI developments across the US and UK, and our regular catch-ups give me a space to talk through real-time challenges in a constructive, grounded way.

Whitney’s support during particularly difficult moments like the UK riots and the Supreme Court ruling was invaluable.

The sessions always leave me clearer in my thinking and better prepared to take action that reflects both the complexity of the issues and our organisational values.

Small shifts make a big difference, and Whitney’s knowledge and passion gives an individual focus and perspective whilst also bringing clarity across businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes.

Broadening understanding and challenging assumptions.

Having Whitney as my reverse mentor has led to honest and brilliantly challenging conversations, as we discussed and debated how everyone can contribute to building truly inclusive workplaces, communities and societies.

It was a pleasure working with Whitney throughout the entire process, from ideation stage right through to implementation and evaluation of our focus group programme.

Whitney took the time to really understand what it is we needed and was patient and flexible throughout. Whitney is an expert in her field, and I highly recommend working with Anchor & Flow.

FAQ

A nice culture protects comfort. A kind culture protects people. Plenty of organisations are pleasant places to work on the surface, but that surface politeness can quietly avoid the harder conversations, smooth over problems, and leave the same people carrying the same weight. Kindness is willing to be uncomfortable when it needs to be, because it puts people's wellbeing ahead of everyone's ease. A lot of our work starts with a simple question: whose comfort are we protecting? The answer usually tells you where the real work is.
We embed inclusion into how you actually work, rather than delivering it as a standalone event. That means looking at your everyday practices: your recruitment, your meetings, how decisions get made and who gets heard, and helping you shift the things that shape culture day to day. We meet you where you are, we are honest about what we find, and we care about change that holds long after we have gone.
We work in three stages: Discover, Plan and Execute. We start by understanding your culture as it really is, through focus groups, listening sessions and audits of how you communicate and operate. From there we build a practical plan tailored to your organisation, with clear goals rather than vague ambitions. Then we help you put it into practice through training, advisory support and the everyday changes that make inclusion stick. Every engagement is shaped around where you are and what you need, so no two look exactly alike.
It is one of our signature tools. A say-do audit compares what your organisation says it values against what actually happens in practice, across things like recruitment, meetings and how resources get allocated. Most organisations have a gap between the two, and naming it honestly is often the most useful place to start. It turns good intentions into something you can actually act on.
It is embedded culture and inclusion leadership for organisations that are not ready for, or do not need, a full-time hire. You get strategic direction, hands-on support and someone holding the work to account, on a retained basis that flexes to your size and stage. Think of it as your culture and inclusion lead, right-sized for where you are now.
Both. Some clients come to us for a single workshop or a focused piece of work, others for an ongoing partnership. We are honest that lasting change rarely comes from a one-off, but we would always rather start a meaningful conversation than turn you away because the timing or budget is not there yet. We will help you find the right entry point.
We started in tech and professional services and now work across sectors including entertainment, healthcare and the public sector. What our clients have in common is not their industry but their intent: a genuine willingness to look honestly at their culture and do the work, rather than tick a box. We work with organisations of many sizes, from growing teams to established institutions.
You are not alone, and it is usually not your fault. Most inclusion work fails because it is bolted on rather than built in: a training day, a policy, a moment of good intention that never changes how the organisation actually operates. We focus on the everyday practices and structures that shape culture, so the change becomes part of how you work rather than something that fades. We are also honest with you throughout, even when that is uncomfortable, because that honesty is what makes the difference last.
Every engagement is scoped to your organisation, so cost depends on what you need, whether that is a single workshop, a discovery project or an ongoing partnership. We price for the value of the transformation rather than by the hour, and we are always happy to talk openly about budget so we can find an approach that works. The free consultation is the easiest way to get a sense of what is right for you.
The best place to begin is a free consultation. It is a chance to talk through where your organisation is, what you are hoping to change and whether we are the right fit. There is no pressure and no obligation. You can book a time directly through our website.
